BOARDS & COMMISSIONS It takes more than a mayor, a city council and several dozen dedicated employees to run Miles City. In fact, a quick glance at the Organization Chart illustrates that our largest structural component consists of Boards & Commissions, most of which are staffed by members from the community volunteering their personal time for the public good. Serving on a civic board or commission is a great way to learn more about the inner workings of local government, to contribute to our community and to prepare for a run at public office. Vacancies on one or more of our commissions occasionally arise and the City is always looking for new leaders willing to serve. If one or more of the following Boards or Commissions looks interesting to you, we encourage you to attend a public meeting or submit a letter of interest to City Hall. As positions become available, you'll likely receive a call to service from the mayor.
